Laura Tanner Jewelry

Founder and designer Laura Tanner Swinand discovered her love for the jewelry craft at thirteen. After taking a course in enameling and metalwork, she had some early success selling her designs in a local boutique. After earning bachelor’s and master’s degrees in art history, she realized that making things was more fun than writing about them. So she found her way back to making jewelry, while also exploring new techniques and designs. Laura is drawn to the meditative, tactile, and often unpredictable process of creating jewelry, as well as to the innate natural beauty and subtle imperfections found in gemstones and metals.

Located just outside Chicago in Evanston, Illinois, Laura Tanner Jewelry is dedicated to quality, artistry, green practices, community engagement, and keeping production based in the U.S.A. The LTJ look is marked by the combination of exquisite gemstone beads and pearls with precious metals to create sophisticated, versatile jewelry that is at once contemporary and timeless.
